York Family Session

This session was my second session with the little girls (they did Christmas mini sessions with me!), but my first session with the whole York family!

It was an especially fun session for me since it took place in my back yard!

I love the “rawness” the landscape has and the simple white sheet was a perfect addition (an practical element so they didn’t get dirty when they were on the ground!)

I was also OBSESSED with their color coordinating! All of their outfits went together so perfectly! They were a great a example of how you want to dress for a session : everyone looks like they go together, but not too ”matchy matchy” where everyone is essentially wearing the same outfit!

Although the whole family group shots turned out beautiful, my FAVORITE shots were when they were in the smaller groups!

such sweet, intimate moments.

The bond between two sisters is such a special thing. I, myself, have one younger sister so it is always near to my heart when i photograph two sisters.

The bond between sisters is unlike any other.

I always make time in a family session for just mom and dad shots!

With all the responsibilities of being parents, it can be easy to focus most on your kids and all the things they need. But I find great joy in capturing memories of a husband and wife together. Their love is beautiful. They chose each other to create their beautiful family together and without them, there would be no family!

Love is such a beautiful thing. it grows and changes along with the ways that their life together does.

And of course, you need to have some individual shots! I love taking kid’s solo shots so that when they look back on these photos, they can watch themselves grow not only with their family, but also by themselves. One day they will grow up and have a life of their own. One day, their future children and grandchildren and great grandchildren will look back at their mom(grandma(pa) or great grandma(pa)) and see just her (him) as a little child! what a BEAUTFUL thought!

I am so thankful for yet another family who allowed me to capture this special moment in the lives of their family! Each family is so unique and it is such an honor to get to freeze this, ever fleeting, season in the York family’s history!

The days are slow, but the years are fast.

Your kid’s will only be this age for such a short time. You will have grown and changed from year to year. Don’t miss the chance to document THIS beautiful season in your family, because it will never be exactly this way again! Don’t wait, let’s capture your family as they are today.
