Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday! It always has been.
Now, if you are not a big fan of the day of love, don’t stop reading now!
Valentine’s Day has always had an allure, to love and be loved- it has its obvious appeal to a young teenage girl!
My favorite (pre-husband) Valentine’s Day was one of my first valentines days as a single adult. I had a really great time with, well myself! Without sounding too clique, I had a season where I really found out how to love myself for me and not based on anyone else’s love (or lack there of) it was a liberating season and I celebrated BIG by myself! It was awesome!
Please enjoy the pictures of Stephanie circa 2014. When I say I was ALL IN for Valentine’s that year, I really meant it!
Though that was an awesome year, my ABSOLUTE favorite Valentine’s Day was 6 years ago.
February 14, 2016.
Travis and I had been in the “talking” phase for a few month- just getting to know each other and all that. By this point in time I was definitely HEAD OVER HEELS for this man But I totally had myself convinced that he didn’t really like me, he was just too nice to tell me to get lost (call it self preservation).
We’ll, a few days before Valentines Day, after our 3rd “unofficial” group date with another couple, Travis asked if I wanted to go out on a date for Valentines Day! He knew it was my favorite holiday and I was SO excited!
Flash forward to February 14th.
He showed up at my apartment, flowers, candies, and the world sweetest card in hand and we took off for lunch.
We ate at Applebees and we had THE MESSIEST burgers ever! I’m talking juices dripping EVERYWHERE! I made sort of a “what you see is what you get“ decision.
After lunch, we weren’t ready to end out date so he suggested we hang out downtown Which we proceeded to do for the next 8+ hours! We talked and laughed and laughed and talked FOREVER! It was LITERALLY the best! We had been sitting on a pier off a conal for a few hours when we decided to walk around a bit.
We walked over to a big pavilion pier. As we looked out over the sunset over the water, Travis told me that he liked me. My heart was bursting as I reciprocated!
We continued walking around with our arms around each other and I was on CLOUD 9!
By the end of 2016 we were engaged and married on July 8, 2017!
Flash forward to 2022 as we get ready to celebrate our 6th year of being together!
I couldn’t be more thankful for the man who took a chance to ask me out 6 years ago! I can’t imagine my life without him!
Im thankful for these photos, not only because they double as examples for SSP Balentines Day Mini Sessions, but also because they are a documentation of this sweet, sweet love I am blessed to be a part of! I love to watch out love grow and change as the seasons of our lives do!
If you too, have a desire to document your love story, a Valentine’s Day Mini Session may be just the thing for you!!
I’d love to play a small part in your big, beautiful love story!
